Coconut oil for oil pulling

Oil pulling is a method handed down from the ancient Indian "ayurveda" health practices. As early as 500 BC, oil pulling has become an important part of Indian traditional medicine. It is a universal therapy even in the West. Western expert Karach at a medical conference in Ukraine, spoke on oil pulling. According to him, they had used this method to cure a leukemia patient of 15 years. They also healed a rheumatoid arthritis patient who had been unable to walk normally.

Dr • Karach explained the principles of the theory of Chinese medicine : There are a lot of points on the tongue linked to kidney, lung, liver, spleen, heart, bladder, small intestine, stomach, colon and spine. Oil pulling has a role to play in the therapy.

Even if we brush daily, we still have yellowish teeth. This can be attributed to the oil soluble tartar that toothpastes cannot completely eradicate. In long-term practice, oil pulling method can help dissolve this dental tartar and at the same time remove the plaque in the mouth. It promotes exfoliation, effectively strengthens teeth, improves gum bleeding and makes teeth whiter.

Overnight, a great amount of or a body of bacteria causes intra-oral adhesion. The oil coats bacteria easier than water. In oil mouthwash, the oil thoroughly mixes with saliva and through the mouth, the blood drain away toxins. When mouth secretions are finally spitted out, the number of microorganisms are reduced and oral health improves. Oil pulling flushes toxins out of the body by means of oil. It also enhances metabolism

What oil can be used for oil pulling? It must be a good oil, preferably cold-pressed and organic is best. The effective oil people currently find acceptable to use are sunflower oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, linseed oil or olive oil. Based in my experience, the best tasting is coconut oil, which is the most acceptable among these oils.

Instructions on oil pulling: Perform oil pulling upon waking up, before breakfast when you have not brushed teeth and drank water yet. Take 1 tablespoon (10 ml) of oil and swish it inside the mouth for 15-20 minutes, after which the oil maybe spitted out. Some people may not feel comfortable at the beginning of the oil pulling, as the oil has a sticky mouth feel, so it is advised to swish the oil for only 10 minutes which may gradually be increased to 15-20 minutes each time. The oil mouthwash can be done while preparing breakfast, so after 15-20 minutes it is done and the oil can be spitted out. If the oil is viscous or turbid, it shows that the body has more toxins. Since the oil used in oil pulling contains bacteria, it is recommended that after the oil is discharged off the mouth, swish with brine or saline solution after which the teeth are brushed.

Oil pulling is suitable for all ages 5 years and older, pregnant and breastfeeding women and those who have their menstrual period. Western clinical trials have confirmed that a lot of people with bodily disorders who are practicing oil pulling, naturally improved from their disorders. Oil pulling is not directed against a particular disease but all who have different adverse body symptoms, were restored on their physical health.

Tips on Oil pulling:

1. Oil pulling is effective for people with fever, gingivitis and those who are drunk and cannot eat.
2. Oil should not be overlooked as mouthwash; the oil should not be swallowed but should only stimulate the throat
3. The oil used in oil pulling is full of bacteria and toxins, thus, it should be thrown out.
4. 5 years and older children need one teaspoon (5ML) of oil for it.
5. If one is allergic to a particular brand of oil he/she is using, change the brand.
6. If the person has dentures, it is advised to remove dentures first before oil pulling.
Oil pulling is best done before breakfast and can be repeated three times a day. It is best done in an empty stomach and it is advised to wait one hour after oil pulling before drinking
